Since I really love my Topolinos, I hope this is good news:
http://www.bikerumor.com/2012/10/16/easton-licenses-topolino-carbon-fiber-wheels-technology/

The upside:
Easton Cycling and Topolino Technology today announced a licensing agreement that will advance Easton Cycling wheels through the use of lighter and stiffer composite technology developed by Topolino.

The downside:
Topolino will discontinue their Carbon Core and True Black bicycle wheel lines.

Topolino spoke technology + wider rims might be the bee's knees.

Well if they want to use wider rims they should say the manufacturers to start building bikes with thinner and longer chain stays, or just go straight to CX.

This will be interesting.
The rim-to-rim spokes passing thru the hub is creative design.
Let's see what Easton does with it.

interesting. i've ridden quite a few wheels, and my topolinos are the nicest riding ones i own. i have an early set that is known to develop hub issues, but so far, so good on mine. hopefully easton will add some value to the equation, not just marketing.

It'll be interesting to see what happens here.

Topolinos and Wound Up go in the same category for me. I don't care how they work, they make every bike look like a bearded lady. No matter how pretty she is, she has a beard.

I can appreciate where you're coming from, but the beard is less obtrusive if the spokes are painted black (https://picasaweb.google.com/112227674531901972961/20120721ColnagoC40?authkey=Gv1sRgCKSh-fH7pcaEcQ#5768014832073343490) :)

Well, and you employ the "C40 with a Saronni scheme" caveat*.

* Which of course, in totality is, you can hang pretty much anything on a Saronni-colored C40 and it will look amazing.
