I looked long enough for silver Centaur shifters 2006 or older in mint shape for a nice price. I've decided to fix my scratched shifter levers and get them anodized locally. I found a shop that does awesome work and they will clear anodize my levers once polished up for only $30. A far cry from the $200 plus people want for a set of shifters. I remember when these puppies only went for $110 on Ebay in mint shape because that's what I paid about 3 years ago. If I only knew back then I would have bought 20 sets and sold them now for a 100% mark up on my money.

It'll return to normal... Just give it a few years. OR should we be stockpiling Veloce and Mirage groups to sell in 5 years, NOS?

I was actually looking for 9s STI shifters on ebay recently and it seems like they are going for as much or more than Campy Ergos...I was very surprised because I thought I would go Shimano on this lock up bike to keep the cost down. Never fails, the forum came through with some for a fair price.

ah... you could probably start a business facilitating that anodizing process... $30 is quite a deal.

I have seen 9 speed STI Ultegra 6500 go for 175-200ish. And they didn't look that pristine either.

I have a set of 9s Centaurs that a friend wants me to sell for him. Will someone really pay $200 for them?

I had to pay considerably more than that for the couple of sets I bought recently. But they were NOS and I didn't want to take the risk of used ones. Hopefully I've now got enough 9 speed bits to see me through the rest of my riding days!!

Same with the silver Record hubs. Prices have shot up lately. Could've made some nice money if I'd invested in several sets a couple years back.
