Got tired of all the Lance crap so my buddy Jason and I hit the single track in Point Mugu State Park. Ran into Momma and her two fawns, found the guy with the second Blacksheep in Ventura County and overall had a great time on the SS.

Anyone else?

Agree enough of Lance. Looks like a great ride. Last Sunday in North Boulder I ran into 2 small bucks and no camera. looks like the perfect ride for the beginning of winter. Will be hitting the dirt trail on my CX for a ride today between showers.

Nice Jack, sorry I never got the chance to meet up with you before I left Socal...

Anyway, I did ride today! My buddy Mike and I finished the ride I started last weekend... Weather was low 40's with constant light rain the whole time... Didn't see any bears today, probably because they were also have the "Run the Rock" marathon today so plenty of people were out...

I did figure out the performance of my Performance Rain Jacket was a little lacking... ;)

This is Mike at the turn around point

I'm going to try my longest ride since the Dr gave me the ok.

30 miles, I won't be fast and I may not make it that far, but whatever, I'll have a smile on my face.

No pictures, just a 30 minute interval squeezed into a short ride. Happy with my speed and form. I almost ditched the ride for some trainer time. Glad I didn't. It was chilly, but beautiful out.

Lance who?

43 miles in perfect fall weather through The Plains and Middleburg (VA horse country) with three other lovely ladies. We stopped to help our ride leader fix his pedal--it was loose, he had no proper tool, and was trying to thread it back on the wrong way. We gals came up with the tool, cleaned up the threads, and remounted the pedal. However, it wouldn't go all the way in as it was partly stripped. We warned him not to stand while climbing and to get some new pedals ASAP!
Forgot to add: on this ride of 8 people, there were 4 Serottas! One CSI (mine, ca. 1996), one Classique Ti (ca. 1999), two Concours.

AS,

With as much climbing as I have around the area, I'm running presently 32 front and 21 rear. If I go over 4000 feet for the day I'll throw a 22 on the rear.

Tomorrow is a 18K trail run in La Jolla canyon about a mile or so west of where I was riding today. All single track so it's OK.

Did 40+ on an overcast, but pleasant southern IN fall day with good color. Spent some quality time working my way up Boltinghouse Hill (the monster among lesser monsters in the area) and managed to skirt the traffic for the IU-OSU game.

Yessir Jack..I had a nice solo 40 miler, despite the 35 degree temps when I rolled out of the driveway. Sunny, crisp and leaves turning everywhere.

Took my new BMC(Black Mountain Cycles) road bike for a 20mile jaunt through the streets of Bound Brook, NJ to the D & R Canal tow path with a good buddy of mine who lives around there. Beautiful weather with barely anyone on the path. We had a great time catching up.

Looking forward to suffering a little tomorrow with some hills.

A right arm offspinner, Rahman was a member of Bangladesh's 1997 ICC Trophy winning side. He became his country's inaugural Test captain when he led Bangladesh on their Test debut, against India in 2000. Rahman took 6 for 132 in India's first innings, including the wickets of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.

Brutal weather here in Toronto...the end of the great cycling we had this year is upon us. Here's hoping for an Indian summer yet to come.
At least the bike blow out show was good.

Rained all day today.
Last night I did about 90 minutes at dusk. I saw 8 deer along the way: 4 one block over from me- they heard me and ran; 2 more on my way out, they were also spooked.

I came across the last 2 about 5 minutes from my home in a sub I ride thru all the time. I was as close as I've ever been to deer- they were less than 10 yards from me when they heard me. They were on the side of the road and one started to cross right in front of me. I yelled and it went back to the grass on the side of the road. That was a heart stopper. Hitting/being hit by a deer would have been a disaster. I am still surprised I got so close to the deer...I had my iPhone in my pocket playing music loud enough to alert critters/walkers and I had a 1200 lumen headlight set to high as it was already dark.

Wouldn't change a thing.

80 mile ride from Downtown LA, through Koreatown (largest concentration of Koreans outside of, um, N/S Korea), Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, PCH, Topanga Canyon Rd (former home of Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and you can still see hippies) down to the Valley (half of the city of Los Angeles is the San Fernando Valley), through Hollywood and back to mi casa.

The weather was perfect for riding. Cool, crisp breeze and 65 degrees the whole ride. Visibility was good for LA. Doesn't get much better than this around here.

Jack, is any of the riding you do in your neck of the woods CX bike friendly? Looks nice and I might want to check it out if it's ridable. From the pictures it seems so!

Yep I see guys on their CX bikes all the time on the main dirt trails. Not so much on the steeper single tracks but yes there is good CX riding throughout the Santa Monica's.

Disco rally/ride in Gainesvile, TX. 50K, Good company made it a nice ride. Decided against the 100 K typical Texas winds 10-15 mph made it tough.:bike:

No riding for me. I have gluteus medeus tendonitis, which is keeping me off the bike and boosting iburprofen salse here in the northeast. As much as I love fall riding here (and some of those pictures are just killing me), my next ride isn't going to leave my basement - seems a bit early for pedal stroke work on the trainer, but it is what it is. I'll leave the basement door open while I'm on the trainer, maybe some of the local wildlife will come visit...

The local wildlife here seemed particularly engaging
Around here last night...maybe less so this morning
After waking up to gunfire...Another reason to
Consider the trainer. Makes me glad my go to fall rigs

29 VERY slow miles today on the Missippi river levee!

Every one with a huge smile on my face.

It was a very nice day to get a little sun in the middle of Oct.

This guy thought so too.

About half of the ride is climbing a hard pack dirt road (Blue Creek Road) in the Idaho Panhandle National Forest to Fernan Saddle. Smooth pavement on the descent and all the way back to town. Recent light rain knocked down the dust and improved traction on the dirt road section. 28c Schwalbe Durano's handle the dirt quite well.
