The new top of the line Parlee road model for 2013.

Tapered and ovalized carbon tubes, double disc, 135mm rear axle spacing, et.c.

Wow, that's nice. And I'm a steel guy. I like the mostly traditional look to frame. This would be something worth considering in the carbon world.

Discbrakes for roadbikes seem so stupid imo. I use to think parlee looked great. Recent road models havent lived up to that imo.

No doubt they counted on the wet road discs from sram..they haven't made it yet, don't know why.

I built a touring Moots with discs..mechanical...they weren't broken in but still...rim brakes worked a lot better.

How much? (As someone who bought a Z1x long before the prices skyrocketed, I'm curious in an academic sense - I doubt I'll ever own another Parlee at current prices...)

why is it that someone can't figger out a clean way to hang the front hydraulic line on road disc forks?

that setup looks, well, kinda goofy. is it just dangling out there? hard to tell from the photos, they obviously don't photograph it from the non-drive side.

all that aside, i'd enjoy trying it out just for kicks.

eps build (note the Fiat500 parked on the down tube)

This is a very clean new bike. better lighting required to show all of the tube shaping... And as shaping goes, it's Typical Parlee conservative.

I've always wondered what the battery looks like. Fiat 500 seems to fit the bill.

even if discs aren't your thing, it's not a bad thing for a small company like Parlee to keep pushing the envelope. We have them in the shop where I work and man, are they nice. The stock Z5 bikes are really just a big step above some of the flagship companies that I won't mention.

Also, I think Dornbox did the Leman's color scheme better:

Well that price sure is a buzzkill.

"Honey, don't be upset but i spent the kids' first year college fund on a new Parlee. No, really, it's super cool, it's got disc brakes."

Makes Serotta seem almost reasonable.

now that's funny.

serotta should launch a new marketing campaign, "hey, we're cheaper than parlee!''

:p

Makes Serotta seem almost reasonable.

What's the problem with the headtubes?

Well its ofc only my opinion..

I think its the 1.5 tapered forks messing with my viewing pleasure. In general i dont like it on any bike. Its to thick n chunky.

Latest parlee headtubes just look poor. Its like it hasent really got a shape or just to plain.
Its not straight, its not round. Havent got edges havent got a headset to frame it on the top and bottom. Its just hmm lacking for me.

One can play with the shape and make the tapered forks abit more pleasing to the eye like a few other manufacturer have managed to do (again imo). Tho in general they dont look as good as a 11/8 fork to me.
