What do you do with your route sheet on an organized ride?
I am looking for idea's on how to see display the map/route sheet

I have seen a few idea's with cloths pins ziploc bags, but I want something better. Sugestions?

Just to be clear...I let my riding buddies do all the navigation...I just follow behind. :D

I tried a handlebar bag with a see-through map pocket but it didn't work so well. It made the bars feel 'heavy' whenever I added even a few items and it seemed overkill to just use it for the map. My solution has been to carry the route sheet and/or map in my jersey pocket. It isn't ideal since I need to memorize the next turn but it seems to work. This DID turn out to be a problem in France when I missed a turn and ended up having to ride 5 miles back UP the mountain to get back on track. That sucked! : )

Hey! While searching for the exact model I tried out, I came across a site with some interesting ideas/products:

Scroll down and check out the full and 1/4 sheet map case and the cue clip. Might work?

Hope this helps!

The simplest, least obtrusive and easiest to use (and cheapest) way is to get a small binder clip and 2 zip ties. Zip tie the binder clip around the stem. Clip the route maap onto the binder clip...Voila, done!

PS: It is not waterproof, obviously.

This doesn't answer the question, but I find that most organized rides with cue sheets have well enough marked roads that I very rarely need to look at the sheet. I generally stick it in a jersey pocket and only pull it out if I get confused or think I missed a turn. I did three organized centuries in the last several weeks and I think I actually looked at a cue sheet a total of once. I have a clip on deal that goes on the handlebar, but I never use it.

I'm a big fan of the Gilles Berthoud handlebar bags, but I doubt they'd work for everyone! I don't like the handling of my bikes without the bags.

I've been on rides where much stronger riders would let me draft for dozens of miles, and they wouldn't drop me because I was so useful as a navigator, having the cue sheet right in front of me.

Maybe I should put an espresso machine in the bag :)
