I picked this up off bigflax a few months back but I recently moved and my space for my cycling toolbox is more limited. I threw on some sks fenders and a tubus rack and lumotec light and used it to get around town and hit the dirt hardpack trails.

It is a custom all rounder*650b*porteur by Steve Stickel in Asheville, NC.

It was designed to run Gran Bois Hetres w/ 52mm fenders or Pacenti Quasi-motos w/o fenders. It has 2 custom forks, a low (38mm) trail city for with a Pacenti-crown and multiple rack braze-ons AND a medium (~60mm) trail 3-piece Raleigh-style off-road fork with lots of mud clearance.

Paul custom polished "Royal Flush" crank
Paul cantilever brakes
Custom built 650b wheelset with Alfine 8 speed rear hub and Shimano Dynamo 3D-71, 6 volt, 3 Watt front hub
Versa 8 speed STI-like brake/shift levers
Rivendell Fatty Rumpkin tires
Nitto Grand Randonneur bars
Brooks leather wrap
Nitto polished fillet brazed stem
Painted to match frame pump

No saddle, pedals, bags, etc. $1050 OBRO net shipped complete. Add up the Pauls stuff, the Versa shifters, the custom wheels… it's a great price! Will sell the frame, two forks, headset & pump for $650 OBRO net shipped CONUS. Located in MA.

- 54.5cm TT
- 32.5" standover (w/ Hetres)*
- British Racing green semi-matte, with matching Topeak pump
- 1" threaded steerer w/ Tange Levin headset
- non-oversized tubing
- canti brake posts
- integrated, stainless pump mount behind seat tube w/ eyelet for rear light
- Hand-shaped, hooded, stainless Paragon track ends with integrated rack/fender eyelets
- 132.5mm rear spacing

Hmm very interesting.

I think it's a bit tall for me, unfortunately.

Could you take few measurements for me, as the bike is in the pictures (assuming it's still built up)?

Saddle height, center of BB to top of saddle.
Standover (hopefully those tires magically shrink it down closer to 31").
Nose of the saddle to center of bars.

This bike is awesome! What's the seat tube measurement on this? I ride a 54x55, but I think this is too tall for me too.

Standover is 32.5"
Center of crank to top of saddle is 73cm
nose of saddle to center of bars is 52.5 cm

But aren't all of those pictures Jonathan's pictures? The measurements of the bb to top of the saddle and the nose to bar, is there a picture of the bike set up like that? I looked at this bike in May I believe. The rear hub is fascinating to me. I still don't know how it shifts with the shifter shown.

My seat is a little higher than in the pic, but standover would be the same.
The versa shifters mate to alfine hub shift well and for sure better than the SRAM I series IMHO. It's a little chunkier than your DA but for the most part the interface feels like a standard road Shimano.

Is it possible to take a photo as its built/setup.. I'd really like to see a photo with the saddle at the height you ride at

Thanks
Seems like a smokin deal.. TT may just be too short

This bike is dope, and the extremely tall standover is scaring off all the normally-proportioned people... Hmmmm! :D

Here are the requested pics of current seat height setup. For reference I normally ride a square 56 roadie and 19" MTB, and am not oddly proportioned. I thought the geo on this is pretty standard.
