+1.

"I love this...I'm doing it...I feel like a pro..."

Self-esteem is not given...it's built!

....from early on in the video:

Dad: "Can you see well?"
Kid: "No, I don't need to pee".

....I wish I could say that on most of my rides....

I wonder if he has the video of them riding to the top?

Not a lot better as a parent that seeing your kids self-confidence grow when they do something they have never before been able to do or have been to scared to do.

As a dad who has ridden with his daughter pretty extensively since she was 2what i found more interesting was his choice to ride ahead of the kid rather than behind. I always chose behind so I could call out instructions from body position, line choice, gear choice, etc not to mention not wanting to be too far ahead in case she blew up.

Kid has good skills which of course did not come overnight. Without getting into chest beating mode, I will simply say that I spent HOURS and WEEKENDS riding with my daughter over the years from a very early age. As a result we have been able to do some pretty great rides together enjoying multiple disciplines...road, single track, downhill and cross. if you want to with your kid like that, you have to put the time into it.

Fantastic! This is what makes the sport worthwhile, not the stuff on TV.

That little poem you wrote there is pure truth.

What a wonderful video - kept me smiling the whole time. My wife was cracking up too. I can't wait to get my little guy out on the trails like that.

What a perfect illustration of what a 4 year old expects to hear from his dad!

I also love his "oofs".

Confident building primo vid right there. That was fun and just hearing the kid's comments made it better than any other mtb vid I've seen. Thanks for sharing.

He caught more air in 9 minutes than I have my entire life. Incredible stuff, love the enthusiasm!
