Woke this morning to another humid, hot day. Then throw in a few stray showers. I have had enough. On days like this I wish we could move somewhere with less humidity. Oh well it should be nice in a month or so.

We've got a solid week of rain to look forward to. I'm looking into a CF ark to protect the pugs.

Here's the weather report comin' from Austin Texas this morning...
Started the ride today at 7:15 am: temp. 53
Ok, I will admit first, I'm a wimp. Here's what I have on me when I started: Arm/leg warmers, bib shorts, wool jersey, base layer, full-finger gloves, ear cover and finally, a vest.

1hr 15 mins into the ride: temp still hovering around 57
I am having a hard time breathing and the joints seem to be locked up b'cos of the cold. decided to shed the warmers and the ear cover.

By 9:30, it went up to 65. Shed the gloves. By then, my wool jersey is hanging low behind with all the extra clothings packed away in the three back pockets. Not a pretty sight but I don't care.

Ended the ride at 12:05 pm: temp. 71

ps. In case you are wondering...the Ciclosports computer I carry comes with temp./altitude readings.

Wow, that's pretty funny. I live in a cold part of upstate NY. Most of the past week it's been in the low 50's when I commute to work in the AM. Gear consists of shorts with a short sleeve jersey! It's interesting what your body acclimates (or doesn't acclimate) to.

It was 0C this morning and the leaves are almost all on the ground up here in Edmonton Alberta. Unfortunately the number of days we will now have above 50F will be far and few between. Oh well, time to get the trainer out for another 6 months of indoor training. Enjoy your rides outside.

i'm not sure what the temp in jersey was this morning but i left the house in a short sleeve shirt...the real dissappointment was - that i was told we were going to have head high surf with offshore winds. well it was rainy and windy with onshore winds thus making the surf not very good at all...so maybe tomorrow morning...ya know we can't always ride bikes.

Last Sunday was in the high 70's to around 80 for the Gap Gallop century. By the end of the ride, I could sort of sense that it was probably the last epic of the year. I always start to get that feeling sometime about this time of year. It's been raining hard for two solid days - it's not now but it's still nasty outside and just a bit over 50. In a couple of months, this would qualify as a decent riding day, but today I have a head cold and I'm ready to kick back and be a couch potato for a few days. There will still be plenty of nice rides between now and the holidays, but they'll be shorter, more relaxed, no goals at all. Fall has fell.

We did a nice ride yesterday in northern Boulder county and it was in the upper 70's to about 80. It was a beautiful, dry and warm fall day. Today it's rainy and 48, and we're forecast to get 3-7 inches of snow tonight (high tomorrow of 34). Looks like yesterday's ride may be the last for a few days.

Finally, a hint of "Fall" here in AZ! 84 degrees with a nice breeze when I finished mid-day. I can't remember the last time I was able to ride on such a "cool" day. 100 days of 100+ a year gets old fast.

Jason:

Sorry to have missed the ride on Saturday. My son and I went to a cubscout campout in western Missouri (Onondoga Park)... We woke up on Sunday morning and it was 34 . We were in a tent. Boy did that ever suck. Yeah, fall's here. Time to get out the tights.
