Serotta just wished me a happy birthday. I sat here and tried to figure how many miles I have ridden since I got back into cycling in 1970. I started on a Rudge Pathfinder I got from Mike Walden, of Wolverine Club in Detroit, in 1949. Not counting those seven year of riding I get
1. 1970 till I retired in 1999 I rode at least 75 miles a week x say 45 weeks of riding a year = 3375 miles a year x 29 =97875 miles while working
2. Ater retiring I rode at least 125 miles a week x say 50 weeks a year = 6250 miles a year x 13 = 81250 during years I retired
Total from 1970 97875 + 81250 = 179125 miles
So say at least 150,000 miles since 1970
not bad for a professional bicycle rider and architect
