I haven't seen any other company use similar 3d dropouts. Seven, Litespeed, Merlin, Lynskey, Firefly, hooded ones like Moots/Guru's, overseas frames, etc have very distinctive dropouts. Since there's rarely paint and tubes are usually round, it's one of few ways to distinguish ti frames quickly. Could be wrong, but I think many US manufacturers use Paragon bits, and they don't sell them.

Lemond Titanium dropouts : http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=87286 They were made with 6/4 titanium from what I read. Too bad they aren't made anymore!

As an aside, those Serotta dropouts were designed by Dave Kirk.

Sure looks like Serotta XL3D dropouts but a serial number would be a clincher.

they most certainly do!
serial seems to match but the rear cable hanger doesnt! there are one or two other little details which dont match other serottas. ill keep browsing web images... thanks

Serotta is a custom builder and very often things were done to to suit a particular need or customer desire.

What's the serial number?

That's quite possibly a standard hooded dropout like a Salsa that's been filed by the builder. Serotta made their own dropouts I believe and don't think they sold them to others. I could be wrong.

900 54 138

The first part doesnt match Serotta's system, however the rest is mostly correct? It is a size 54cm frame. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with that prefix. Did you see it or is a seller telling you that's what it is?

Have you seen the 2001 catalog? Good images of he dropouts and the listing for the CHT: http://forums.thepaceline.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=76653&d=1292469516
