I have a pair of 135 32 hole DT Swiss 240 hubs built to MTB rims, but I don't have any rim brake 26" bikes left I can use them on. I know I can sell them off, but I'd likely loose less money rebuilding them to new road rims. I think this can be done, but I wanted confirmation. Additionally, I'd be going from Shimano to Campy, so there would be a couple of steps, right?

Doable?

Im not 100% but i think this is what you want:

The change from campy to shimano is simple and the freehub is easy to find. Just put an ad on here for a campy one or even a trade. I have one but shipping from here is to much for it to be a good option for you.

You might need a different axle as well as a LH end cap.

I have a bag of DT240 axles and end caps taken from hubs with broken flanges (DT, Bontrager, and Specialized) if you want to try and cobble something together.

Look585,

Based on this blowup from over at Weight Weenies it looks like the axle is the same, I just need to switch out the non drive side axle cap just as tuscanyswe suggested. There are a few pieces that are different, but they don't need to be changed, the MTB hub has a beefier steel ring nut over alu, and a beefier roter on the freehub.

If you have an axle cap, that would be great, but they don't cost much new. A Campy free hub and/or a drive side axle cap that would be great. I just offered a trade in the classifieds for my Shimano ones. I imagine the weight diference is pretty negligible, but I'll add that to my WTT.

OK, bringing up an old thread to ask a follow up question. I ordered the necessary "RW adapter 130mm left side complete" THIS (http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-DT-SWISS-RW-Adapter-Left-Side-AP-130mm-Road-Bike-Shimano-10-Speed-QR-/151054772933) and laced the rims to some Pacenti wide 700 rims and the left side cap fits perfectly over the axle end and reduces the length from 135 to 130, the flanges at its base are smaller in diameter than the hole in the left side of the hub leaving space around the end cap. I can look in and see the sealed bearing. Was there a change at some point in 240s hubs, and does anyone know what I need for these? I can take measurements of both diameters and post pics of anyone wants to see, but I thought someone might know off the top of their heads.

Is this (http://www.jensonusa.com/!MplO4M7Xjz67Udpvc3HWXg!/DT-240S-Left-Adaptor-Road-Hubs?utm_source=FRGL&utm_medium=organic&gclid=CNjh7KS_l7sCFUjNOgodtyEAMQ) wider? Or will I just wind up with a second piece that does not fit. I guess I can call Jenson and ask them to measure.

Edit: I think I just answered my own question, I think the one I got fits a DT Swiss 190, not the 240s. Anyone need a 190 left hand end cap...cheap?

No, just axle ends, axle is the same.
