Anyone used this? Does it really work a lot better than normal levers? Safe for carbon clinchers?

I have one. With an old set of wheels (Dura Ace wheels) putting the tire on was an absolute bear. A friend at the LBS recommended it to me and it made putting on tires much easier. Almost a breeze. I never used it on a carbon wheel; mine were the scandiums and I saw no damage to the rim. I wish I could help more.

Great for those hard to put on tires. Don't see how it would damage a rim any different from a regular, plastic tire lever. How it works is the grooved portion sits on the rim, and the hook portion is used to pull the tire bead over the rim and seat it.

Only downside is that its kind of bulky, but still light weight.

Yeah, I never took it with me on a ride. With that wheel I should have but I didn't want to cart that around with me.

I use the Var lever. They can be tough to find, but they work great on hard to mount tires.

Kool stop works great. New tires are a pain to put on. Always brought to shop for new tires but not anymore.

Dave Thompson has one and has said several times that it works well.

btw, dudes at enve say that plastic levers will break before you can damage the carbon
