Quick (?) Question...

My Vittorio Strada MAX is finally going to paint tomorrow...I'll have to swing by my painter's and apply the decals at some point soon.

I'm trying to decide whether to apply the Columbus MAX fork decals, or not (fork is MAX).

Yeah or nay???

TIA

If they were there originally then I'd most likely say 'yes'.

Not unless you're getting sponsored by Columbus.

Not present when I got the frameset.

Fork is super plain with no visible fork crown...

They dropped me last year...

I agree that the decals would jazz things up a bit. The white area in the middle looks like the obvious place for them. (Edit: or maybe the red, depending on how long the decals are, and the color)

How about putting them on with a bit of Scotch tape to get a preview?

That's the old paint...frame is being painted tomorrow in solid pearl white. No time for photos, only mock-ups for myself...after paint...decals and then clear ASAP.

Here's the inspiration below...BTW, the MAX frame doesn't have ST 'Vittorio' decals:

I always like the fork decals. I vote yeah.

There's always the option of waiting and applying them later - it really wouldn't be out of the norm. All of my old school frames have fork decals which aren't clear-coated.

How big are the decals? About 1" x 1" ? If so, then definitely yes.

Smaller...11/16 W x 1 1/16 H

See white Strada above...Columbus fork stickers seem to be all pretty much the same size.

In that case, I would say yes. About in the middle of what used to be the red area.

check against photos here & elsewhere but that the top of that fork blade looks MAX-like in profile even though its lugless. That may make your decision a bit easier.

Absolutely.

Oh...there's no question, it's a MAX fork...there is a matched crown and they are brass brazed together...just no "lug lines".

Only question is yes or no on the stickers.

I'm off to the painter's at 2pm...thinking I will install the fork stickers.

Thanx guys.

Another vote for the MAX stickers on the fork. Max fork stickers look great when they're placed just below the crown on the Max unicrown forks.

I can't wait to see the finished bike!

Cheers,

Texbike
