Hey kids -

One would not think this would be that hard but of course it is. I am building a MTB bike for my 8 year old - I sure wish my dad was a bike geek when I was growing up -

I am trying to find Kenda 24 x 1.95 small block 8s with a kevlar bead -

I can find these in a 2.1 but I would really love to find them in 1.95 - 125 grams X 2 adds up when the rider is only 50 lbs

QBP is the main distributer in the St. Louis area and they will not special order anything for anyone - trust me I have already leaned on several shop owners to help me out -

I have not really found any on line - some places list them but of course don't actually have them

I even called Kenda directly - of course they can't sell to me directly (I get that) but they won't even tell me who carries them -

If you have any ideas please drop me a PM - I figured this place over any may be able to help
thanks
jason

hey dave -

sadly no - Ive already been here - the tires listed here are your typical "kid" tires and cruiser tires-

for example the kenda Alpha Bite tire - is an 800 gram tire compared to the small block 8 at 425 grams -

I am building a full suspension 24" rig - I have to cut weight where I can -

thanks though -

I get it. Google is your friend, too. ;) I'll see if my local LBSs have 'em.

Jason, don't make the bike too light, you don't want him to out-climb you just yet. :)
