Please advise about bearings quality. Just bought new pedals, but I don't know what to think as the axle bearings feel different when rotated with my fingers: one is smooth while the other gives a grinding/rocking sensation; still rotate freely though. The bearings are sealed cartridge type, and the little grease I could push into had no effect.

Is this normal in an upmarket product (price range of the Dura Ace pedals)? Perhaps my expectations were unrealistic, and such difference will have no effect on how the pedals perform when put in use(?) The other possibility is one of the pedals is defective, and I better return them. Unfortunately I lack specialist knowledge or experience, and have a difficulty to decide (would be silly and irresponsible to return a normally functioning product). What do you think?

A new set of pedals should not fell like that. Return them and get another set.

Take care of those bearings with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads.

New pedals feel smooth. A crunchy bearing on a new set of pedals means something is not right. What kind of pedals are they?

Hmmm... I will not dare to do so. Not only this will void the warranty (the grease inside is white so if diluted will be obvious to a naked eye), but to the best of my knowledge is plain wrong. The bearings are low speed high load and should have solid lubrication (grease).
