I 've heard about SRAM front shifting issues. For an all RED group, what would be the consensus on most trouble free FD: Ultegra 6700, Force or RED FD?

Thanks as usual

7800 fd shifts flawlessly on my otherwise SRAM group :)

Well, I have in hand a Force and a 6700. I really don't want to buy a RED one if either of those would work fine.

As a SRAM user, I say use what you've got... Either should be great... I think the pre-2012 Red had flex issues with the cage... BTW- I've used a 105 FD on a Campy 11sp bike when the Chorus FD broke and it was just fine, I really couldn't tell any difference...

The new Red Yaw derailleur is phenomenal and works perfect with the previous gen stuff. I find it to work much better than the old SRAM and any Shimano front derailleur.

If you go the RED YAW, you won't regret it. It is really a big improvement in shifting efficiency, plus the chain catcher. Significantly more expensive tough.

I guess I assumed the OP was talking about the pre-yaw stuff...

sounds like you've already got a couple good FDs that'll work. the force or the 6700 should work great.

7401 fd shifts flawlessly on my otherwise SRAM group :)fixt for one of my bikes

The others have a Force f. der, a Rival f. der. and an XTR f. der.

I have a buddy's Rivet in the stand now with a Red f. der. Ick. His front shifting is teh suck.

Red yaw else force...pre-yaw red...no one used those. everyone used force instead as the steel cage shifted better than the red ti cage

There it is...

The new Red front mech offers up the best front end shifting in cycling now with the exception of Di2.

and 9000..and I'd say EPS...sram is playing catchup and letting the others dictate what they are doing.

I am leaving the 6700 for now. In the future I'll get a RED yaw. Thanks everyone :)
