Love the economist-speak in the article: "[Sales] should be close to 20 million UNITS." I undertsand he's trying to sound like the objective professional, but c'mon, would it really have been that difficult for him to say "20 million BIKES?"

So how many UNITS do each of you own?

I have a lot of names for my old 2.8 cannondale, but I have always thought more of it than just a "unit."

I think I am going to rename my POS SS mtn bike. I had named it POS (fittingly) but now I may call it UNIT 6. I gotta whip out the sharpie and write it on the TT.

I have names for all of my bikes, not all of which are appropriate for a family forum. You guys name your bikes?

My Ottrott is Argo

My Madone is Deluxe (like when you go to the diner, you get the buffalo burger Deluxe, not the regular. The Deluxe comes with fries.)

My 9.8 is Cha-Cha

My POS SS was POS, but now will be UNIT 6

My CX is Jiminey B1tch. Like Jiminey Cricket, but B1tch.

I guess I should include then in the photo links.

Ok. who's up?

Unit = package?

Ken Robb

well, I think unit is one part of a package.

That wasn't a snicker. That noise was her head hitting the desk as she fell to the floor in complete and total laughter. She has now been laughing for 12 hours.

Men who are fixated on their "units" are trying compensate for something. ;)

That's called "unit cost".
