Since i've heard various reports that the D2R2 100k route is stunningly beautiful, i think i'm going to tackle it on Saturday.

Thinking of driving up Friday night, sleeping in my tent and getting an early go at it, driving home Saturday evening.

Any suggestions on where to camp in close proximity to the start location?? i see the camp sites listed on the d2r2 website, just looking for personal experience.

finally if anyone wants to ride the 100k route at a relaxed pace on Saturday, give me a hollar.

thanks!

. . . century this Saturday I'd be all over this like cling wrap.

I'd go to Google and look up Deerfield camping or Greenfield Mass camping.

Or you could go to the D2R2 web site and send the land trust people an e-mail. I'm sure they'd be able to suggest someplace.

If you can put if off til the 6th, you could stay at my place in Amherst and I'd likely ride with you, if I'm not too busy with work. I'm out of town this weekend though.

I'm a D2R2 veteran. I know the 100km route (hint, hint).

I'm interested.

PM me.

Ahhhh, dirtphalt... That looks like a lot of fun. I'm going to be up to my eyeballs in busy between work and school, so no traveling for me that weekend.
Well have fun when you get out here, hopefully it'll inspire you to make it up here for next years D2R2. Let me know if you need any advice on the area (bike shops, food, beer?)

I'd love to ride the route again but this weekend is the 155th edition of my town's fair, http://belchertownfair.com/new2/main.htm, and we just got a keg that needs killing...Stop by if your bored!

Let us know if you come across any camping spots, I'd be interested just for future reference.

THis is a LIE! :) they only sell People's Pint brewed beer, which is very good! (I used to live around the corner from it).

BBC is everywhere else, though. and delicious.

Drinks before the ride? D3R2?

Drunkin Deerfield Dirt Road Randonee?

I don't think I would survive.

Supposedly People's Pint has bacon chocolate chip cookies on the menu, but they were out last time I was there. I was not pleased!

Practically neighbors! I was on Franklin St behind the school. Migrated south, though, so I can bike to work and school.
