I'm sorry I'm such a n00b at everything Campy. But I want to make the jump and I'm wandering if all these components will be happy together? Any trick/potential issue that I should be aware of?

Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks Peter. It's such a vastly superior design ;)

My Serotta's gonna be happy.

Thought the 11 RD pulled a different ratio, interesting.

I have used 10s RD on 11s system(just did that day before yesterday) and 11s RD on 10s systems..and both work.

For 10s Rd to work, gotta be a really tight RD..no slop. 11s works well..'Over' shifts a wee bit but no big deal.

The setup on my Specialized Allez is similar and works fine.
10 SP Chorus Shifters
Athena 11 SP front der.
Chorus 10 SP rear der.
Chorus 10 SP 12-25 cassette
10 SP Record chain
Athena 11 SP compact crank 175 50/34

Good to know to start thinking in a super slow migration to 11. DO you guys think campagnolo will drop 10 at some point?

I have been wrong everytime I try to 'predict' what Valentino may do. He just stopped/shut down their clothing line. At least the US distributor in Utah. A foncon with the guy implied Campagnolo clothing is no mas(not a bad thing, IMHO).

I imagine the whole line will be 11s eventually but 8s cogsets are still available so I don't think anybody is going to not be able to find 9s or 10s for a long while..just not Record/Chorus level cogsets.

Well campagnolo clothing was so so, the issue with their clothing is that they had some idiotic things like "campagnolo printings" in their shorts that after like 3 times were cracking, some of their socks were ok but as good to even deserve to be campagnolo for example.

Castelli has some crap like that too, wasnt better just grab white lycra and transfer the black over and have the castelli logo together when doing the color transfer instead of having that cheap ass bicycle type of patch applied with heat that after a month was cracking?? Just small stuff to lower the cost but darn... you guys got the idea.

As for the components, i'm under the impression that campagnolo is still tying to find its direction, sram and shimano knows where are they going but campy since years ago looks like just seating there waiting for the lunch time to take a nap and being awaken to just go back home for the day.

Miche is the same situation, good products but almost zero if not zero marketing strategies or anything. Well thats life. love my campy stuff :D

If I were using 10's shifters, cassette, chain, etc....I would also use 10's derailleurs. 11's crank OK. Not sure if 11's FD is narrower than 10 causing triming, or how much cable pull difference in rear rerailleurs, but see no reason to have to "make something work", or accept less than perfect shifting (differences stack up on cassette), when stuff designed to work together is so easily and readily available. Just my opinion.

But like OP says....sure it will "work".
