Thought this was totally awesome and worth sharing. Gives new meaning to the term suffer-fest. 40 pounds for 25 miles! I'm hoping at least one or two of the athletes managed a smile as they passed him.

That's just too cool! The ultimate would be to do Paris-Brest-Paris on a Vélib’, although at 8 euros/hour it would get expensive...

Ha. That's funny. Sort of reminded me of my first tri. Crappy MTB with knobby tires. Hope he didn't wear those clothes for the race though.

In the beginning days of the sport in San Diego , it was about having fun and celebrating life and fitness ,not many thought of it as a serious sport .nice to see some guys have not forgotten what it was like back then .
Cheers

Hmmm?

I'd be impressed if someone would do each event backwards.

Sounds like a recipe for mass drownings.

Yeah, really cool. Heard about this on our local NPR station this morning. Not only they are heavy, but zero aero. :)

Wish I had seen it in person. I hope he got massive crowd support. It's remarkable how successful the bike share program has been in DC.

There is a clear demand for more carbon in bike share bikes.
