If you can't tell the difference then you qualify as a media reporter like this one. http://www.dailycamera.com/news/boulder/ci_21480467/boulder-police-drunken-cyclist-pulls-knife-driver-after?source=most_viewed

I'll give him credit for adding "drunken" in to the headline. Would have preferred the headline would have been, Drunken Idiot on bike pulls knife on driver after swerving into his path.
Instead of Drunken cyclist pulls knife on driver after swerving into his path.

You Fail!

you don't seem to understand that "the Media" = idiots with pens, cameras and keyboards.

...#2. Mad handling skills while carrying plenty of the liquid of life.

#1 is a poser riding too much bike and kit for his purpose.
#3 is some dippy urbanite who thought a bike would be cute. Luckily, she'll get weeded out when she falls and her badly-placed helmet doesn't protect her.
#4 MIGHT qualify, though we're not sure if he's been riding or drinking
#5 is an image-conscious hipster doochebag: drop bars, no brakes, no helmet in the city.
#6 is a local drunk who happened to grab someone else's bike when he left the bar.

What do I win?

Fixed dude comes closest. Level tt is a good start.

Now if his stem was a bit longer and he was going 10 miles per hour faster.....up hill.....in the drops....we would have a winner.

The fact that he has no brakes nor helmet shows confidence.

Cyclist. Biker. Whatever. They throw those words around a lot. Its not important.

I am, however, off put that you feel your rights/needs/social standing are somehow different from this person's because your bike and clothing are different.

I also don't think it's worth getting bent out of shape because an outsider doesn't understand the nuances of what is really a pretty niche sport/hobby/passion.

Seems like he used the term properly for me.

It is what it is. The guy was/is a cyclist.
