Almost bought an Wi Fi I Pad 2 today for wife. Just can't decide between I Pad and Kendle Fire.....for what wife wants to do. Read books from library, mags, papers, Internet....take care of family business while sitting with her MOM....bank, Insurance, etc. , E Mail, etc. She will never use many of the features of the I pad. But we have in our heads all the markeing hype of the I Pad. So just can't decide.

Well I bought this frame from SamIam;

With the storm I have not gotten it yet, it's here in the city, just not to me yet.

But it will make a very nice bike.

You have not been to Baden Wurttemburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Hesse, or North Rhineland-Westphallia. I can assure you that beer there no better than French or Dutch.

But I'm picky (My wife is Frankonian and my first German beer was from this area sooo)

Well, fwiw....

I just bought my sweetie an iPad 3, wi-fi/3g... and she'd much rather have had the Kindle. For us, the problem really is that we're not at all the target demo; we're not executives, we're not into angry birds or words with friends, the ipad is our only Apple product (so we don't cross link to iphones and such), we both work out of the house (where we can watch videos on bigger laptops or our TV if we really want to).

Personally, I find it to be a little bit bulky, heavy, awkward & unwieldy, though I'd rather read PDFs and other docs on that than the kindle or even my laptop. My wife, though, has used friends' kindles, and loved them. Plus, Amazon has a whole range of books that are free with the Kindle. With the iPad, they cost.

An enve road fork for my new to me crown jewel. Got a pretty good deal on it bnib. Now I'll probably convince myself to switch the hs, stem and post to black from silver. Had chatted with IF about buying one from them painted to match but vanilla shake comes out different every batch and the bike is 3 years old so there may be paint fade. I think it'll look good with black fork and cockpit. Likely swapping the 7800 for 7900 while I'm at it though the 7800 is damn near new and flawless.

I spent a bit of time in Bonn and it's pretty hard to beat a Früh Kölsch on a warm summer day. Sure, it's not the same as a Bayern bier....it's just different.

since my cross bike sees some pretty nasty duty, and i havent given it any real attention in a while, i was cleaning it up over the weekend. the cassette, chain and big chainring just look shot. that bike is probably going to see quite a few miles over the next year, so i'm just replacing them all. KMC 9-sp chain, 9-sp cassette, and FSA big ramped/pinned chainring ordered. I'll probably replace the shift cables while i'm at it. should run like new with all that stuff bolted on.

A pair of Panaracer Type A tires, since nobody is blowing out PR3s for $30 anymore (not in the 25 size, anyway), and the other tire I wanted to try, Clement Stradas, are harder to find for less than $50.
Total order was 2 tires, 4 pair Aztec brake pads, 2 HB tapes and SRAM cassette (possibly the last 9-speed part I'll be buying, given how few miles I've been putting on that bike.)

I'll let you know how the tires work out.
