As I add years to my total I begin to toy with the notion of the 'gentleman cyclist' for town trips. To that end I wonder where I can find the 'perfect' pair of cycling pants? I've seen, but not yet tried, a pair of Assos DB Track Pants;

Right now I'm making do with a pair of old Patagonia hiking pants, but they're not cut right for the bike and are too wide in the lower leg.

I'm not sure, but a pair of plastic pants from Assos would not be my first choice...

Why not just wear your regular clothing for town trips?
