View Full Version : B17 with Ti Rails Breaking

Tonight just after starting my ride I heard a strange noise that I thought was something like a stick or twig caught in my wheel, so I dismissed it. 20 minutes later I found out what the noise was when my Brooks saddle kind of sunk and I heard metal pieces hitting the ground.

I thought for sure it would be a broken rail but it turned out that the saddle broke near the nosepiece, actually the piece that slides over the front end of the rails and through which the tensioning bolt goes. There is another crack in that piece as can be seen in the photo so it was just a matter of time before it failed. The saddle is a B17 with Ti rails.

Does anyone have or know where I can get a replacement for the broken piece? I started riding this in 2009, and I'm not sure how long Brooks are warranted.

Thanks for any advice.
