Very sexy indeed.... But I still like the Stronglight better. Looks like breaking the 500g weight barrier is a hard one with cranksets.

My Stronglight Pulsion WITH CT2 chainrings and a American Classic ISIS BB, weighs 523 g.

You can see right through the bb, so external bearings. Same company that makes the awesome brakes.

$1,000. Why not. I bet they will have a backlog.

No, it's al. I think there are going to be 20 lucky forum members that are testing prototypes.

No, not this forum.

Wow...now the defence department is spending our tax dollars on stealth cranks...what a great idea.

But I'm a really awesome beta tester -- I can break just about any bicycle part. If it survives me, it is definitely fit for mass use.

Really don't know much - just found the picture while snooping around. Yes, same folks as the silly light brakes. I think someone said that the DA spindle would fit inside this ZG spindle. Obviously, bb must be using external bearings.

I don't like the looks of that arm at all. Torsional stiffness of the arm (needed because pedals are cantilevered out from the centerline of the arm) is proportional to the largest inscribed circle of the the cross section... and it's really small at that cut away. There are way too many thin web like sections, some of which are almost certain to be loaded with many times the stress of the the main arm. There's a reason why other cranks don't look like that one. Looks like :bike: to me.

"mass"? I don't think so. ;)

Just an observation from someone who occasionally
rides in less than perfect conditions: wouldn't the hollow
bottom bracket opening fill with mud, dirt. etc....on
a regular basis? Isn't above mentioned mud, dirt, etc...
heavier than a standard-design bottom bracket/crankset?

Well, I can't say that I am crazy about the aesthetics.....It *would* look at home on a bike with a Wound-Up fork or perhaps on a recumbent....

Sexy? I guess. You're refering to the orfice through the BB right? How about super-caffeinated CNC commercialist maddness gone over the edge? What is the word for elegant in Cyclese anyway?
