Looking for an inexpensive steel road bike. I'm 5'9" tall and fit well on many 54cm frames maybe up to a 56cm depending on frame design/geometry.

Looking to spend no more than $400.00 - less than that would be great. Doesn't have to be fancy - just a functional bike. Doesn't have to be super skinny tired either, something that fits 25s or even 28s would be excellent actually (even larger tire clearance wouldn't suck either)

Really want it to be a complete bike too. No frame/fork/headset packages please.

Would love to not have to pay to have something shipped, so something within reasonable driving distance of the Greater Hartford Area preferred.

I passed on a 1993 Novara Strada last night - probably should have bought it but I didn't get a good vibe from the seller.

If possible would prefer bar end shifters or better yet brifters rather than downtube shifters, but I'm open to offers ideas.

Let me know what you've got fellow Paceliners!

Cheers,

Mark
