Are you sure about the number? I found several sellers of 6805, but the dimensions are given as 25 mm bore, 37 mm OD, and 7 mm width.

Peter... Boca Bearings is the source often sited.

Mark...These are the Campy UT crank bearings...6mm as opposed to 7mm width, a little hard to find, usually sold as "ceramic".

Not sure where the 6-mm comes from either. See page 4 of this PDF:
http://www.hchbearing.com/pdf/online%20catalogue.pdf

3 types of 6805 bearings are listed on McMaster-Carr, from unshielded, to double shielded, and double sealed, but "only" ABEC-1 grade.

The big variable with bearings is the lube, however, especially in the sealed case.

This seller has 20 available and says they are the same as Shimano.

The 3 at McMaster are all 7mm width.

Out of curiosity, I took one out of a 5600 cup. Shimano uses loctite on them, just to make it more difficult than necessary. Measures the same, has plastic seal on one side, open on the other. Marked "Sunhill 6805-RD". Too bad Shimano doesn't sell them without the cup, they'd be everywhere and cheap.

Hmm...Mark (or Peter), is the Campy UT OE bearing single seal or dual seal??

These ebay ones are a steal at $17/pair but are single seal.

I checked a couple of new cranks. 2008 Centaur has no seal on the side you can see, I assume the outside has one. Athena 11 has kind of a transparent gold tinted seal on the inside.

Mark...Are the Shimano bearings the correct 6mm width? These complete BBs can be picked up for $18-32 (105-DA) so might be worth scavenging bearing out of for the UT cranks...

Don't want ceramic, don't want retail, but wholesale.

The Campag ones are single seal, I sell the Wheels double seal and am looking for a source of 6805/6mm width bearings, steel, US or Euro made, wholesale type pricing since I sell a fair amount in UT and PT crank bearing OVH. The search continues

Peter...Buy a bunch of Shimano 5600 ext BBs at wholesale ($18) and use the bearings...or...contact the Latvian guy and see about a bulk order.

Don't really want to put shimano bearings into a Ut or PT crank....first gen 7800, etc BB cup bearings were 7mm..changed early on.

Peter...I highly doubt Shimano is making the bearings...probably someone like Koyo.

OK...The bearing Mark pulled was a Sunhill...Maybe a call to Sunhill America is in order: 866-673-3750

Sorry for a bit of drift. Is it possible to pull the seals of an old set of bearings and put them on a new set so that you will end up with both side being sealed?

no thanks...

back to my original post. I am a bike shop, my Wheels bearing supply is running low(I bought all of their remaining stock last year), I need a source of these bearings, steel, no ceramic, thanks, wholesale, double seal, US or Euro made for replacement UT/PT crank bearings.

I see QBP has replacement PT bearing kits..same bearings..

I haven't bought any in the last 6 months or so but VXB and Enduro both had 6mm width. However, doubt you'd get much for wholesale pricing there. Some deeper digging on actual bearing manufacturers perhaps.

Small soapbox rant but this sort of thing seems to be what Campagnolo goes out of their way to do, make something that's standard "non-standard". I'm still a Campagnolo user and have since the 70's but find this type of thing irksome.

shimano bearings are the same size as Campagnolo. Tough to bang them outta a new cup tho. At least the Campag ones can be changed. Campagnolo makes all sorts of cups for the BB shell follies. Between the 3 crank makers, sram is much less standardized than shimano/Campagnolo.

ALL manufacturers are non standard when it comes to things like cranks and bearings. I am NOT a fan of BB30, PF30 and all the other BB 'standard' crap but shimano doesn't even make a BB30 crank, bearings, adapters, etc, at all so..........

There are a host of bearing manufacturers in China these days. Popular brands like SKF and NSK are all replicated. Unfortunately, you may well have to purchase a "lifetime" supply of 1000 bearings by going direct to the manufacturer.
