I'm going to look at a Novara Strada road bike tonight. Found it listed via craigslist.

Looks to be a tange butted frame with a tange unicrown fork - looks to be in great shape. Shimano RX100 throughout - looks to be original wheels with maybe 28c tires on it.

Can anyone tell me much about these bikes? Hard to find much information via Google on em.

I saw the bike in an ad from someone asking $100.00 for it - then a subsequent ad with better pics from the new seller seeking $180.00 for it. I suspect he bought it, cleaned it up a tad and is looking for a quick flip.

What do you think might be a fair value for it?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Novara is the house brand for R.E.I. Like a lot of bikes they are made under contract so no telling who actually made it. Due to the age it is probably Japanese or Taiwanese. Compare it to Giant, Nishiki, Centurion, KHS, SR, bikes of that vintage.

Check out the link above.

It seems $180 is within the realm of reasonableness for a complete Tange bike if it fits, has good paint, the components work and your gut reaction is "I really like that old bike."

Seems reasonable for an RX100 bike in good shape, if it's something you will use.

Looks ok mark... looks mint too, the only thing I would do is to swap the tires for slicks 23 mms and the saddle, besides that looks fair for the price, mint bikes are hard to find.
