128 miles and almost 9,000 ft of climbing in the Hocking Hills on tap. not quite alpine, but more than enough for a flat-lander like me...I'm scrambling to build enough condition to avoid a death-march!

I am doing it, likely with my brother who is training in flat Columbus. This will kind of be like a marathon for him after having ran a few 10 milers to prepare. I foresee the epic'est of bonks!

Where did you find the route BTW?

Hey Wallyman, good luck! I grew up cutting my cycling "teeth" in that entire area. I lived just outside the route and rode "into it" many many times. I went to college in Athens and continued to be abused by those darn hills. There are some serious steep pitches in that area for sure. I always find the topography much different cycling wise when I go back there to visit. It's one thing to ride 100+miles and climb 9000' when the climbs are long and gradual and then it's quite another to do the same stats when the climbs are shortish but brutally steep...like the Fondo climbs.
I looked at the map and boy oh boy did it bring back memories.

Keep an eye on the scenery and hopefully you won't notice the climbs...suuuure.
