I don't know how many of you saw that one of our forum members (dsb) recently lost his brother when he was killed riding his bike here in Brevard County, FL. We are having a ride and fundraiser for the family on 19 August in Merritt Island.

You can see the details about the ride here...

Here's some information about the accident...

And here's some info about the family's goals...

I never had the pleasure of meeting Colin, but from all I have read, he sounds like a super guy and who was great contributor to his community. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

I'm considering this ride. I've ridden that area from Oviedo many times and a little awareness might go a long way.

I would have love to participated in this ride but that is at the end of my vacation. I would like to donate. Is there any way to do that without participating in the ride?

Thanks! We just lost two cyclists who were hit by a car in Cooper City yesterday by a guy fleeing a crime spree. The incident was in an area that I ride from time to time.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend this event due to another commitment, but it seems like there was a great turnout for Colin's ride. Here's the FB event page with comments about the ride...
