A few days ago I rode Izoard from Briancon. My first time up had been a minor epic, with my buddy and I freezing our butts off in the rain (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?p=1034974). This time, however, I had perfect weather. It's hard to find a more beautiful col, IMO, especially the upper part and the Casse Deserte. After puttering around, taking photos and clawing my way back up to the col, I did the descent which was by now full of cyclists. On my way up, I saw four guys -- two on fully panniered out random bikes (!). On the way down I saw full pelotons of smiling riders -- old, young, men, women, mountain bikes, full carbon rigs, panniers, even a city bike… cool!
