Also who's the best shipper for overseas shipping to Asia?

Joie de Velo is the only one up there that I know anything about. They sell high end stuff, should be ok.

brah,
Alberto's.
Brendan is the dude that taught me how to build bikes, wheels, ride in a group, etc. When my car died, he let me drive the Alberto's van until I got a new set of wheels. None of this has any bearing on packing/shipping your bike but I gotta say that those dudes (including Bill and Joey) were some of the best people to work with/for. I've thought about quitting my better paying (2.5x better) job and going back to work at Alberto's simply because it was/is awesome.
Actually, I think about this all too often. I must really not be happy at my job.

I got it boxed: 50x28x9" & 17lb
FedEx quoted me nearly $800 to Singapore from IL
UPS, $637
USP, First Class max length is 42" Express mail max is 46"
I have DHL to check out but I doubt they will be much cheaper than FedEx or UPS.
I seems my only option is reduce the box size to either 42" or 46".
