Someone recently started a thread ATH about Rapha's new London flagship store. Nice digs. Anyhoo, it got me thinking about Rapha again and reconsidering their kit. I also realized that 2012 has seen very few sales compared to 2011. For those of you who have been following these guys from the beginning, do you think they only have a ton of sales when they're about to change their designs wholesale, as they seemed to do with the club jerseys or have they reached a level of financial stability where loss leaders are no longer a part of the business model? I just basically want a new jersey for 80 bucks

I'm pretty sure they had a jersey sale late last June or early July, so I've been surprised they haven't had one. Figured maybe they were waiting until the Olympics, but apparently not.

Fortunately, I got some bibs for 20% off at the recent Competitive Cyclist TdF sale.

Perhaps they're forecasting demand better, and doing a better job producing quantities that match their demand. No overstock equates to no need
for sale pricing to reduce inventories.

They had a 20% off sale on the classic bib shorts not that long ago, and maybe last month they sent out a survey that you got 15%off on your next order. Maybe they are just being more strategic with their sales.

+1 those look great. I don't get the arm sizing for the long sleeve, has anyone tall (6'4", 175lbs) worn this stuff?

Thanks,
Corey

Also on the Rapha front, the GB branded cap, gloves, and jersey were on 25% off when Twiglet won Le Tour. If RCS does well on the track look for some pro team discounts . . .

Sorry for the confusion, that is code for Rapha team gear, not Torn.

I also just ordered a Jersey and base layer from them!
Should be arriving soon, with shipping included I ended up paying less then the price of just a Rapha jersey!
+1

Not that every Rapha jersey looks good, but Rapha has made a lot of good looking jerseys with excellent use of stripes. In my opinion Torm and Road Holland miss the mark every time.

My feelings too. The Rapha imitators try, but their aesthetic just isnt IMHO as clean. Certainly their have been a few Rapha mis-fires, but by anbd large I find the designs simple and pleasing to look at.

Now, back to looking for a cookie monster or grover jersey.

Don't forget about the Ben and Jerry cow jersey.
