Internal Gear Hub and Shifter

Hey Guys -

Working on my single speed Bamboo Bike build...

Gonna go Gates Carbon Drive along with an internal geared hub. At first was going to go with the 2 speed kick shift hub, but am now contemplating an 8 speed hub wired to an old 8 speed Campy STI shifter. Anybody know if this will work? I can't find info on the "take-up" and assuming I could would I be able to create some sort of adapter ala Jtek? Any ideas would be most appreciated!

I have a gates belt drive with a alfine 8. With a Jtek shifter, on a co-motion and it works very well.

Those look nice, but I really want a STI type lever...
