Those shots are incredible. And Alabama was how many miles
from the eye of the storm?

. . . was the storm that ran the milk truck off the road that ran over Dadoo?

Excuse me . . . I have to run like hell for the shelter now!

Yeah, I've seen either those shots or very similar ones floating around for a few years, since people started getting proficient with photoshop. It's one thing to see roundish patterns of clouds associated with tornados (although those are still suspiciously dramatic, large, and well formed), but hurricanes are so friggin' VAST, you don't see the circle or the edge all that clearly. It just gets dark and starts raining and blowing like crazy. Particularly big ones like Katrina and Rita, which are hundreds of miles across. Sort of like trying to see the roundness of the earth - you'd better be a LOOOOOOOOONG way off.

Regardless of which storm, the person who stuck around to take the photographs must be an idiot. I would have been either hiding in the basement or driving like madman to get awy from the storm.
