I have Zipp 202s with Zipp brake pads. Are these pads wheel specific? In other words, can I use them effectively with other carbon wheels such as Enve, Reynolds, Campagnolo, etc?

Thanks.

EDIT:

Depends on the pads.

Tangente Cork/Platinum works with all CF hoops (make sure you read your mfg warranty info though. IIRC Easton says you can't and it'll void warranty... i might have hte wrong wheel mfg)

I believe the Carbon/Carbon pads are optimized for the Zipp silica rim surface and for alloy.

Enve pads stop well, but wear out at an incredible rate. I'd say there's a lot of variability.

There are about a zillion threads on carbon brake pads on every internet forum.
Google it.

AS stated above some companies will void warranties if you don't use their pads. Not sure about Easton but Reynolds requires that you use their cryo blue pads. IME they are the best pads I've tried, so no complaints from me.

My experience with Envy, Bont XXX, and Light Weight wheels is the Swiss Stop yellow work the best. Good luck.
