What an incredibly clean brazing job! Look at the bottom bracket area. Cinelli fork crown, Campagnolo 1010 dropouts. A timeless classic.

Seems a pretty good bargain to me for $3,000-$3,500. I want one!!!

I've been riding my 1987 spectrum steel lately. Its a work of art and the most balanced solid bike I've ever owned. Mine has a bunch of trick ishiwata tubes and shimano fork ends and horizontal dropouts.

The team did a 100k ride this past saturday with 4400 feet of climbing, about 2/3 of it on gravel roads. We also did a gravel descent. I put on 25mm tires. The bike was great, as was the monster burrito I had after the ride for lunch.

I'm not sure you can do any better than one of these bikes.

Nice! But for some reason the full frame pictures aren't there?

Hard for me to understand how any bike frame is worth $3K but, I have to admit, that's some fine looking craftsmanship indeed. The lugwork is absolutely beautiful. Probably the best looking scooped seat stay lug that I have ever seen.

Is the price for a frame or, frameset? I didn't see it on their website.

Call me a philistine, but that is (only in my personal opinion- please don't get too 'excited')...ugly.

It does have 'character', but pretty it isn't.

Some old styles I like a lot, Art Deco buildings for example, but this is different.

I saw this frame in person when I got fitted for my new Spectrum Ti. All I can seay is that the Frame was amazingly beautiful. When Tom was describing the frame, you could hear the excitement in his voice.

Go Tom......

Folks:

Sorry for the delay in getting the finished frame pics up. It has taken a while for the first 30th frame to get through the paint Q. It is done now and I hope to get the photos taken and up on the site before I have to leave for the Vegas show.

To another question; the $3,000 is for the frame, fork, headset, matching pump and of course, a bottle. The high price reflects the fact that we can not get any more of these frame components. They are all really old (well, not as old as I am) and for the most part, they just can't be had any more.

Style- In fact, I really don't prefer the Cinelli lugs used in this first 30th frame. I always thought that Prugnats looked better, but Cinelli is what was chosen.

Thanks for the compliments on workmanship. I can only take credit for lug contouring. Jeff did all the brazing and soldering. He is a wiz with a torch. I think that he really enjoyed building this frame. He had to recall how we did it years ago before cast lugs and bottom brackets. He went through almost twice as much silver solder as we usually do. Frame and lug fit up is done very differently and the decisions regarding lug shape, contour, thickness, etc. are all different. Fun.

Check back for the final photos.

That is just gorgeous. As a bigger guy (6'4", 200), I don't think I could bring myself to spend that much for an SL frame, but that is a stunner. I think I'd like it better with a completely flat-crown fork, but otherwise that is among the most beautiful frames I've ever seen.

The unfinished frame caused me a rather serious OMG reaction. Just didn't have words...I knew what I was looking at and even hearing Tom explain where all the once in a lifetime-this-is-it-there-ain't-no-more once these tubes lugs and bits are gone STILL it was hard to believe.

Just awesome.
