Today's stage makes no sense to me. Two beautiful climbs, but after the second one there are 45km, during which the riders pass essentially by the finish line, then just circle around the town of Foix. Someone wanted to give the aerial cameras enough time to televise the scenic location. A manual on how to drain all excitement from a stage. Well done, TDF!

Meh, I don't need to be on the edge of my seat excited the entire time. I think the scenery is a huge part of what makes the tour so special.

No complaints from me.

Lets see what happens on the way up for the main peleton before we judge the last 40kM. Yesterday was a one day classic for the last 40kM.

Maybe add " [Possible Spoiler] " to your thread title, depending on how much you and I argue in the next 20-40 minutes :)

Whatever happens will be neutralized in the long flat part before the finish.

this is a bit nuts.

My thought is Wiggo wanted to wait for Cadel and Rolland wanted to take advantage. Wiggo would not chase, but now Radioshack has positions at risk...

Sheesh!!!

Racing!

I guess you were right, Jason: it did become a fascinating stage, but for all the wrong reasons.

yes, not what I had in mind...

Ridiculous. Who does such a thing?

I meant that there's no chance that the machine Sky will let anything happen when they're given 40km of cushion after the climb.
