My son is playing baseball in Cooperstown and I have my bike and 4 free hours tomorrow am. Anyone know any good climbs or routes in this area.

Figured it can't hurt to just go but thought i'd check here first.

Thanks.

I'd bet there are good rides in that area. Try Map My Ride or Ride With GPS searches. OT, but Brooks BBQ is good for ribs & chicken if that's your cup of tea.

Endless riding around here.
I'm busy tomorrow AM or I would offer to show you around.
If you want, shoot me a PM with where you are staying and I will get you pointed in the right direction.

As CNY rider said, the possibilities are endless. There's a book called Cranks from Cooperstown (http://www.copleys.com/cranks/welcome.html) that has lots of ride maps for the area. If you will be back in the area in the future, the book would be a good primer.

I grew up on River Road (County Rt. 33) south of Cooperstown. Where are you starting from? If you're starting from Cooperstown or Milford, then Crumhorn Mountain is (was? it's been a few years...) a very challenging climb to the southeast of Milford. Pretty much any route heading east or west will be hilly. Stick to the river valleys if you want rolling to flat rides.

Here's a few potentially helpful links:

CNY rider hooked me up with some good information. Had a fantastic 4 hours then watched my sons baseball team get smoked. All good.

Thanks for the info.
