Can one send a Serotta frame to get re-painted and to change from 1" to 1 1/8" steerer???

About how much in labor, shipping for a total?

re-paint - yes.

Head tube replacement - not sure, I thought I had heard they would not do frame mods.

Call and ask.

This would be very cost intensive and would buy you little besides just a different look. THere are still some good forks available at one inch. for your current bike.

IF you really want the inch and an eigth, I would recommend selling the existing frame and buying the 1&1/8th one either used or new.

Doesn't Joe Bell do frame repair and frame alterations?

I bleieve Belienky from PA does them as well...

Serotta might - can't hurt to ask!

It's more then cutting one off and replacing it. The Diameters are different, and you'd need to have the TT and HT shortened to maintain geometry. Otherwise you'd be increasing your TT length at the same time.

Hmmm. A friend of mine crashed aboard his Seven Axiom and had the fork replaced and Seven put a new head tube on it as well. I know it sounds like work, but with titanium it is possible to all these kinds of things, right?
