Curious question,
I was going over my DurAce 7800 RD and noticed that both of the pulleys have a bit of play side to side. One more than the other like about an .125". Would this be an indication that the bearings are going and I will need new pulleys soon?
Thanks!

More top play is par for the course, as it allows you to cross chain with less fuss.

Designed that way for chain alignment with click shifting.
Friction shifting didn't have the "sloppy jockey" .

+1 to the above comments, In my experience, the bearings dont wear out before the teeth do... the pulley's should be fine until the teeth are worn, then replace...

here's a good example

Thanks All,
Teeth are not worn just the play which I was not sure about how much was normal.
