I just called them, and told them of my accident.

I told them that the medics called the #'s listed, from the Id tags.

I lost my road id in between the ER and home.

Road Id said no problem, they would send another out, NO charge.

That is customer service! Good on them.

These things work. Even if I never want to have need of it again.

Accident: Thumbs down
Road ID customer service: Thumbs up

Hope you're recovering well. :)

The Road ID was the one requirement my girlfriend had for me getting back on the bike after my crash, and it was completely non-negotiable.

I went with their dog tags. Hopefully I won't have need for it again.

My wife saw me wearing one and asked what it was. Of course she was not thrilled that I may not be able to verbally tell people who I was but understood the need.

In fact, I wear it anytime I go for a walk, hike, gym etc.
Having proper ID can in itself be a lifesaver

jr--did the medics take the Road ID off your wrist? I always have mine on when riding, and I sometimes wonder whether a paramedic would know to look at my wrist if I'm unconscious. Maybe they are trained to look for ID like this?

They are trained to look for medical alert bracelets so would easily find a Road ID

I am guessing they are so common now with cyclists and runners that they look for Road IDs too

I wore mine as dog tags. They saw it when they cut off my jersey. My poor ser

Bobke and my wife finally made me get one.... VERY high quality and well thought out.... You really should have one-- especially if you ride alone....

Why do they insist on cutting clothing off? Collar bones heal but expensive jerseys cannot!

This has been a tough year for accidents.

I am certainly sorry to hear about yours and wish you the speediest recovery possible.

Road id is on order.

My spouse insisted after my accident this spring.
