I live a couple of blocks from the first corner of this increasingly large regional race. I've tried to photograph it the past couple of years. Here are a few shots from last night's event. I don't know, maybe some of you were there or raced??? The first few are more typical long lens freeze-action shots. The rest are panned and motion-blurred shots trying to get a bit more feel for the speed and mayhem of the race - plus the light was getting pretty sketchy so the long lens freeze-action stuff wasn't really going to work anyway...

Very nice pictures.

This is a really fun event, but I was unable to get there this year. I did the 3/4 race there last year and it is one of the harder courses around...also draws some of the best racers in their respective categories from within a 6+hr radius or so.

I was there, it was fun to watch (heck I might even be in the background of some of those photos lol). The podium in the Pro race was all international riders, the winner was from Canada and the 2nd and 3rd place riders were from Germany.

It was hot as a mutha earlier in the day and during the 3/4 men's race. I had dinner in town, along the course, then headed home to miss the storm that looked like it was about to hit, missed the women's race, and walked back up for the mid operation of the men's pro. By which time it was a lot more tolerable. I've been there for all but one of these since it started, but I don't think I've ever been around the start/finish area to actually ever see the end of the race. It is a fun event to watch - the laps are so short they come back around every minute or two. I usually have no idea who won...
