So if as you have said, the Record 11 cups are flawed due to their lack of a seal on the bearings (is that what that white thing is called?) can I install Record 11 cranks with an older Record 10 cup with the seal? Will it fit? Will it benefit at all? Or can you add the seals from a 10 speed cup to an 11 speed cup? Is there any other way to protect crank bearings? Especially if it is a CX bike that may see mud?

Thanks

I know Peter recommends using lots of grease, but I don't know which cups he likes for 11 speed.

but i thought it was the SR cups that had no seals, and the record cups do have seals? I use record cups with my 10s UT cranks without issue and they have seals (the green colored cups).

I think the 11s record cranks are fine with the record cups which are sealed. He does say lots and lots of grease in there...

I dont belive there is a difference between 10s and 11s when it comes to the UT cranks

Cool. thanks all, Record 11 cranks installed on my IF Planet X with Record 10 cups with seals. Grease used as recommended. All seems to be spinning smoothly.
