They ganged up on a forum member. He is very sore from the mugging, and trashed some shiny bits.

Oh Canada!

I got ambushed by an Armadillo yesterday, two squirrels this morning and got almost hit by a female deer on my ride on Saturday.

Bruised ego, ruined bibs, trashed RD and let's not talk about his rear wheel (a nice one). Not me, my ankle bracelet does not allow travel to foreign lands, especially socialist counties with free health care ;)

It was the coyote that did him in, he saved the marmot's lives.

Apparently marmots cause crashes pretty frequently in the alps. I've never seen one on the road though .... Many on hikes

Rumo[u]r has that although severely PO'd at the loss of a really beautiful wheel and the afore mentioned shiny Chorus RD, lashings of Advil are helping.

A trip be the same spot today saw two Marmots in yellow jersies cheering from the right side of the road, and one very angry looking Coyote with a cast on its tail and a crutch watching from the left side of the road.

You have a GoPro, you need to wear it, all the time. I'm easily entertained.

It wouldn't have caught the four German Air Force jets that buzzed the road I was riding on.

Did I miss something in the news today??

Maybe you are now part of the EU, or there was an airshow. I hear it was a meaningless holiday in the GWN.

Coinicidence or invasion?

This is the text of the email I sent zMud last night ...

"Two Marmots at full speed followed close behind by Coyote at full speed.

I missed the Marmots. The Coyote didn't miss me.

Casualties; 1 Pair Rapha bibs. 1 LG Team Canada jersey. White Cinelli bar tape. All alloy Chorus 9 speed RD. 6 spokes in rear wheel ( Dura Ace hub, Paris Roubaix SSC box section tubular rim, Wheelsmith DB spokes). My dignity walking back towards home in shredded duds hoping for the broom wagon to show.

The Coyote limped away but appeared to be undamaged."

My feet are sore today, I am not used to walking barefoot on asphalt (or anywhere else really), and my back, rear end and arm are strangely sore.

I think maybe we have become part of the Euro, these planes were the advance force!

Two of my wife's uncles currently fly for Germany/Nato.

An older uncle was a former Starfighter pilot and one worked closely with the troubled F4 program in the 70s.

If I saw this coming at me, I could probably boost a watt or two!

Old deadeye!

Really interesting when I get to chat with my wife's great uncles though.

Two were Luftwaffe pilots in WW II.

Both flew 109s on intercept missions.

Her great uncle Franz was shot down twice, once over Switzerland.

The second time over France.

Still limps from war injuries, but has incredible stories to tell.

The other uncle ended up working for Lufthansa and had quite a career.

Training.

German pilots used to train extensively in Texas during the cold war.

Can't remember exactly. Maybe Webb or Sheppard Air Force base?

The various European armed forces do a lot of training in southern Alberta.

I think the pilots take the planes sometimes to go check out the rest of the country on their days off.
