Controlling a bike with a flat tire?

[700 x 23c]

30 mph in a group ride and the rear tire suddenly goes flat....what is the best/safest way to stop?

I yell out "flat" and let the bike slow on its own with a little help from the brake....once the speed slows a bunch, I unclip to help with stability and apply the brakes a bit more firmly.

any suggestions?
