It appears I have three options (probably more, but these are what I'm exploring). The crank is a Quarq Rotor 3d.

The Rotor BB30-BB24 reducer: http://www.rotorbikeusa.com/products/bb30-24_bottom_bracket.html

The Wheels manufacturing adapter: http://www.competitivecyclist.com/product-components/2012-wheels-mfg-bb30-adapter-for-shimano-7624.2767.0.html

or the BB30-BSA kit: http://www.competitivecyclist.com/product-components/2012-sram-bb30-to-bsa-bottom-bracket-adaptor-kit-6256.1733.0.html

Which of these do you think is going to be the best, most reliable, easily servicable, and easily reversable solution? I'm leaning toward the Rotor, since it's designed with their crank in mind...

Thanks!

I've heard nothing but good things about the WM adaptors... that being said, I'd probably go with rotor one if you're using their cranks unless you hear anything negative... i usually try to keep things like that with the same manufacturer.

That being said... i love my hollowgrams and really like the BB30 on my cannondale, not sure if you have the cranks already... rotor does make bb30 cranks as well...

I've been using the wheels manufacturing one for about 6 months and it hasn't ever caused any problems - seems like it does what it is supposed to perfectly.

It's funny, this quarq kind of fell in my lap -- got a steal on it from a friend, but the arms were 175's.. So I found another on ebay with 172.5's, sent both to quarq, moved everything over to the right size for me, and sold the 175 with the regular spider to another friend recouping the expenses..

But that all came a month after finding a steal on a hollowgram crank and swapipng over from my force crank..

Rotor makes bb30 cranks, but not Quarq BB30 -- Quarq only builds the powermeter off the 24mm crankset. And as much as I'd love to buy their new spider for my current hollowgram crank, that's just not cost effective :) (they're looking for like 1700 for JUST THE SPIDER!!! but it's the new spider like the new sram red crank, left/right balance, etc...)

I have the wheels version on my Primus Mootry 29er and up to this point they've been perfect. No issues, noise nothing. I would use them again without question.

I'm using a Wheels Manufacturing adaptor for my SRAM Red crankset. I don't know about "best" or "most reliable" as I've only had them for a month or two, but they require zero service and they are easily removed without any special tools.

I suppose for less than half the price of the rotor, it might be worth a gamble on the wheels, right?

I like the last one since you use the 'standard' BB cups, just screwed into the adapter instead of generally crappy BB30 bearings.

Thanks for all the input.. Does anyone have any experience with the rotor bottom bracket, by chance?

Chris King is showing PF30 bottom brackets with both Sram and Shimano
versions at the Eurobike show, coming soon.

http://www.bikerumor.com/2012/08/29/chris-king-unveils-disc-brake-road-hubs-pressfit-bbs-more/

Chris King is on a roll here. Theyre launching PressFit bottom brackets for PF30 and PF24. They’ll include a 5 year warranty and they’re machined in house in Portland, OR. They’ll also offer 24mm adapters for converting BB30 to Shimano standard and an stepped adapter to run SRAM’s GXP cranks. Available Q1.

I've been using the Wheels Mfg with my GXP Quarq mated to a BB30 Focus. works great, no problems, no special tools etc

Ended up with the Parlee adapter -- actually started to back out on the first ride, but pressed back in with a little more umph and has been good since.
