Anyone interested in this show? Venue is the historic, beautiful, 2,400 seat Adler (formerly RKO Orpheum) Theater, completed in 1931 at a cost of $2 million.

Haven't been able to convince any friends to go, and hate to go alone. I'd like to buy the tickets tomorrow.

Time to get some new friends. Great band in a great venue. Wish I was anywhere near the area. Good luck.

Don't let a lack of participation by your pals keep you from going to the show. A great band in a small venue.

A show is a great place to make new friends. I got to see Wilco in 05, and they're not one I'd pass up, especially if you haven't caught them yet.

Thanks for the morale support. I last saw them on their first tour, 1994? Gabe's Oasis in IA City. Place "holds" maybe 200, you can probably imagine how many were in the room. I may have my recollections confused, as I also saw Uncle Tupelo on their last tour in the same venue, but I recall someone shouting "Ken Burns, Ken Burns" to Tweedy (with his hair long at the time, he really did resemble the filmmaker), who kept replying "what?, what's he saying?". Great show, it saddens me to think that nights like that weren't preserved. Lucky to have been there, and would give up some of my favorite bikes to go back in time and see some of the other bands I missed.

It's hard to imagine that they could fit all their gear into such a small venue.
Was it more of an acoustic set? Sounds like a great time.

It was a simpler band in those days. There was some instrument switching but mainly Max on the more country numbers. They were pretty much just a bar band then. I don't even remember if Jay Bennett was there. But no, not an acoustic show, it was loud.

Saw them 3 times in 2011 and they were tremendous each time. Went solo once and still had a blast. Was going to try and come up but can't get free.

If i was close i would go. Would like to see them.

I was in Spartanburg a few weeks ago and saw Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt play accoustic. One of the best shows i ever saw. It had been awhile, forgotten how much i like live music.

Ordered the tickets today, so I have an extra if anyone decides they are interested.

Wilco solo or with a hundred friends is a pic to click. Sometimes solo with zero distractions and if Tweedy is in a chatting mood can be awesome. You should feel lucky, try to get a ticket in chicago for a wilco show.

If only you said the 8th or 9th, im passing thru IA on way to 3X Bypass.

Envy.

It's only a 3 hr drive for Chicago folks.

We caught Jeff Tweedy for a solo show at the Hawaii Theater here a while back. Venue is a 1910's vintage 1000 seat....you get the idea. Was able to sit close. He is a pretty goofy guy. Didn't like it when folks decided to clap along with his songs, which is funny, because kanikapila (look it up you effing haoles) is pretty commonplace here. That said - he gave a really great show.

Wilco is playing in Boise as I type this...killing me that I'm not there, just wasn't in the buget ;-( (just bought tickets to Big Head Todd/Blues Travler/Bare Naked Ladies/Cracker).

Cheers,
Chris

OK, I looked it up. I'm not a fan of audience participation in general, it's ruined a lot of good live albums, especially when the muscians encourage it.

So it turns out my friends aren't so bad, and the tickets didn't go to waste.

We will never hear Bruce's 'Born to Run' or Eddie's 'Better Man' live again. Only 20,000 others mumbled version of every other word. Saw Boss solo acoustic show 6-7 years ago and he politely, at beginning of show, asked all 15000 of us to shutup, listen and appreciate at end of song.....still my best Springsteen show ever.

I would love to see Wilco live.
