I just got a Gopro, and handlebar mount. Did a fun ride and shot a bunch of the descents and what not.
The camera is mounted next to a Garmin Edge 800, and when looking at the footage, on bumpy roads it appears to skip a lot of frames. Almost looks like the video is squishing some frames, hard to explain. This is with a Sandisk class 10 card. Thought it might be the card or the GPS/computer. Shot some videos with and without the GPS and don't seem to matter any. Kind of hard to explain, but everything is going along fine and then the items on the top and bottom appear to quickly squish and expand. Would seem that it is slow card or vibrations, but based on what videos I have seen, I wouldn't think vibrations.

Any thoughts on this and a better handlebar mount that isn't made of nylon?

Not sure how to solve your problem, but I use this for the bike.

I've been riding with a gopro and Garmin 800 and haven't had any skipping issues.

I've found that I prefer to take still pics rather than videos, though, as my battery doesn't seem to last through a whole ride. It's too difficult for me to scroll through the modes while riding to switch around.

The nylon mounts leave a little something to be desired. I'll be upgrading my mount to a K-Edge in the ear future.

I just got the K-edge as well. It looks way nicer than the rube goldberg GoPro mount, and seems to help take slightly smoother video. Also, the perspective is different. I don't lose frames, but I shoot at 60fps R3 mode because it greatly reduces the wobbly/jello effect.

I ordered K-Edges today, seems it is a sensor vibration issue
