Will be sold as a frame set in 2013 Ti frame CF fork
The last Ti Edge was in 1994

Wow! That's really cool. I applaud GT for building it. It looks like it has a tapered headtube. I wonder if it is BB30 compatible as well?

Regardless, I can't see dropping $2K on a stock-sized, Taiwan-built frameset.

Good luck GT!

My LBS has one of the Xizang frames in stock. It's pretty nice but the price is a bit hard to swallow for a production frame.

The Edge looks to be the same. Nice looking, but are there people who will drop $2k on a production titanium frame? Surely that's most of the way to custom, right? It's hard for me to see GT selling a lot of these.

I do applaud them for trying, however! :hello:

Tapered HT and BB30(probably PF BB30)..gee, standard set.

I only picked one but there are a ton of frames and forks, stock sizes, made in Asia, that are more than $2000...most of them, in fact. At least the GT is potentially much more durable.

Good pal of mine, great rider/shop manager @ that, recently got a Xizang (ti 29er frame). He can ride pretty much anything he wants, races all types of conditions, and he likes it, a lot.
If you want good ti on a budget, it's worth a look.

Now, it's no Legend...(yeah, I went there).

Not so. Mine's a '98 & was made in the Longmont, CO shop. Pretty sure there were some outsourced ones -perhaps Taiwanese- sold after that, although the 'old' GT was pretty much absorbed by 2002.

Here's mine as currently set up with DA7700. It's a lovely ride, but not sure I'd pay $2K for the frame...

Here's a link to a thread with pics of the original GT Edge Ti I recently picked up. I'm not sure what year it is. I love this bike!

Something about the new Edge just doesn't really do it for me aesthetically. The sloping top tube? The matte finish? I would love to give one a ride and see how the new Edge compares with the old... I'm sure they're completely different rides.

I agree, I look of the sloping top tube version is more to my taste.
